Gender and Sexuality webinar for parents and carers

Watch the recording

Gender and sexuality are present in everything we do in life, both implicitly and explicitly. They are central to family life, to child development, and to wider cultures and society.

This webinar is created with a trauma informed approach. For parents, carers and family members, it covers an overview of the biological, psychological, and social aspects of gender and sexuality, focussing on (but not exclusively) those outside the cisgendered heteronormative frameworks.

You’ll learn about some of the current thinking and research on what gender and sexuality are, how they are formed, and how they are experienced.

In the webinar, Stephen considers the importance of language and how this is evolving and changing. He discusses how gender and sexuality impacts parents and carers, their children and the whole family, thinking about linked issues and how we can support children and young people better.
