Assessments
“We particularly felt that the way the assessor spoke to our daughter was very respectful and kind, she responded well to them. She also really valued having her own report sent to her so she could read and digest the info herself.” – Parent

Occupational Therapy / Sensory Integration assessments
We offer a dedicated Sensory Integration assessment conducted by our specialist Occupational Therapists, designed with a neurodiversity-affirming lens to understand your child’s unique sensory processing patterns.
How can a Sensory Integration assessment help?
The Sensory Integration assessment evaluates sensory-motor and visual-motor integration skills, and importantly, how these sensory experiences impact your child’s participation and engagement in everyday life.
Pre-assessment call
This comprehensive assessment begins with a 30-minute pre-assessment call with you, the parent, to collaboratively build a picture of your child’s strengths and any sensory-related challenges.
Questionnaires to complete
You will then receive screening questionnaires and the Sensory Processing Measure 2 (SPM-2) to complete, providing valuable insights into your child’s sensory experiences across different environments.
2-hour in-person assessment
This is followed by a 2-hour in-person assessment tailored to your child’s needs and abilities. This session typically includes standardised tools such as the Movement ABC (Movement Assessment Battery for Children), the Beery VMI (Beery-Buktenica Test of Visual-Motor Integration), and detailed clinical observations, but these can be adjusted based on your child’s specific profile to ensure the most relevant evaluation.
The in-person assessment is thoughtfully tailored to each child’s unique neurodevelopmental profile and abilities. We use a range of standardised tools, including those mentioned above, to evaluate sensory-motor and visual-motor integration skills.
Report and feedback call
Our Occupational Therapist will then compile a comprehensive report detailing your child’s sensory processing patterns, which will be shared with you. We will then schedule a 30-minute feedback call to discuss the assessment outcomes in detail and collaboratively develop practical, neurodiversity-affirming recommendations to support your child’s sensory needs and overall wellbeing.

Theraplay MIM Assessment
Nurturing Connection: A Theraplay MIM Assessment
Booking a Theraplay Marschak Interaction Method (MIM) assessment provides a first step towards a more connected and resilient relationship with your child, especially if you’ve been feeling stuck or unsure how to move forward. The assessment shows how a parent and child relate to each other in everyday situations, including how you connect emotionally, respond to each other’s needs and manage boundaries or challenges together.
You’ll understand where the strengths and challenges are in your relationship – where the parent is supporting connection and where there may be unintentional blocking. You’ll learn personalised strategies for more positive and attuned interactions.
This assessment package includes:
- MIM Assessment session: this structured play session involves you and your child engaging in a series of playful tasks observed and recorded by our trained Theraplay practitioner. The MIM is designed to show key interactional dimensions such as structure, engagement, nurture, and challenge.
- Comprehensive MIM report
Following the session, you will receive a detailed report that analyses the observed interaction patterns. This report highlights the strengths in your relationship and identifies potential areas where Theraplay-informed approaches could deepen connection and address specific challenges.
- Individual Parent Feedback Session
You’ll have a dedicated session with our practitioner to discuss the findings of the MIM assessment report. This is an opportunity to explore the observations, ask questions, and gain a clearer understanding of the interactional dynamics identified.
- Parent Demonstration Session
To further support your understanding and application of Theraplay principles, we include a practical demonstration session. This session will provide you with concrete examples of Theraplay-based activities and techniques you can use at home to enhance connection, build trust and address specific relational goals.
