Introduction to Sensory Integration and how to get an assessment

Watch the recording

Sensory processing difficulties are becoming increasingly more common and impact on children’s daily lives in a number of ways, sometimes acting as a barrier to learning or the flow of daily life.

In this free webinar for parents, Emily (an Occupational Therapist and Sensory Integration Practitioner at Family Futures) explains sensory processing and how this relates to: carrying out daily tasks, academic learning, your child’s stress response and your child’s ability to self-regulate.

Emily introduces parents and carers to the basics of sensory processing, explains what a Sensory Integration assessment is, and how sensory integration interventions work.

Learning Outcomes

This webinar will help parents:

  • support their child’s and their own sensory needs through awareness of the role of sensory integration
  • understand how sensory integration interventions work

It is common for people with neurodevelopmental conditions to have sensory processing difficulties.
