Happy new year to all our supporters, families and colleagues!
We’re excited to let you know we’ve moved into our new home in Hornsey Road and opened our doors to families on 4th January 2022.
The front of the building and some of our therapy rooms are ready. We’re continuing works and raising funds to complete the sensory gyms and other therapy rooms in the rest of the building as soon as we can.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for your kind words, support and donations which have helped get us to this point of moving into our own building.
With your help we are creating a welcoming, calm haven for all the children and families who rely on Family Futures for support.

Can you help us reach our target and fit out our Forever Home
Dear families and friends of Family Futures,
We are now in the amazing position of owning the building at Hornsey Road – our Forever Home! We’re nearly ready to open our doors to families and our training attendees in January 2022 but need your help to reach our target so we can fit out the building.
Our progress so far
Building works with our wonderful builders, the Fitzpatrick team, are progressing well and in the past 6 months we have transformed the bus depot site
into a glass-fronted building with roof lights, therapy rooms and an internal garden room which you can see photos of here.
The curved walls are about to be plastered and all the infrastructure work is completed. We have our heating and ventilation system, a sprinkler system, the bathrooms are plumbed in and the rooms are wired for lights.
Fitting out the building to welcome families in
We now need to decorate the building to be the safe, calm haven our families are familiar with and we hope to put in flooring which will be comfortable for the sensory integration work and therapy sessions we’ll be running. However it’s going to cost us £20,000 to paint the building and at least £20,000 for flooring and we have almost run out of funds.
We managed to fund the deposit to buy the building out of reserves and have funded the building works to date (thanks to the wonderful support of all our donors) but, as so often happens with builds, there have been new costs every month which have increased the total overall. We believe we have made sensible (but expensive) long term decisions about a proper damp proof course, the need for a modern heating ventilation system, a new gate to ensure the building is secure and so on.
If anyone feels they can help us with this, either with a donation towards this work, or by putting us in touch with a painting or flooring company that could sponsor or help us (perhaps as a Christmas promotional event) that would be amazing!

We are currently in the position where we think we might need to move in without the building being painted and without proper flooring (just exhibition carpet which is cheap but won’t last).
Your generous support
We were delighted to receive a one off capital grant from the Clothworkers Foundation recently for £150,000.
The generous donations from supporters of our Forever Home GoFundMe fundraiser have totalled almost £20,000. Both these amounts have made a huge difference and made the works to date possible for us!
All in all, it’s an amazing achievement to have got to this point and we have many people, including all our generous donors, to thank for helping us get this far. What started as a dream in 2019, that we hoped would be possible, is now almost complete. Our mortgage offer in early 2021 made the project a reality and we began the building works as soon as we possibly could. However, it has taken more time then we thought it would and we are now in temporary accommodation, having left Floral Place behind in September when the lease ended.

All of us at Family Futures would like to thank everyone who has supported our Forever Home dream and understood the challenges we’ve faced recently with using a temporary premises. Our plan is to move into Hornsey Road at the end of December 2021 so we can be up and running to welcome families in January 2022.

Contacting Family Futures over Christmas
Family Futures will be closed from 5pm on Wednesday 23rd December 2020 and will re-open at 9am on Monday 4th January 2021.
If you are a family in treatment with Family Futures and have a serious emergency or crisis during this time and you think that the crisis requires the emergency services, we suggest you call them first. You can then ring into Family Futures on the main number 0207 354 4161.
A Duty Manager is available during Family Futures Christmas holiday closure every day between 10am and 4pm. If, when you ring in, you then press 3 as instructed on the answerphone message, it will divert your call to the Duty Manager’s mobile. Please leave a message with your name, number and why you are calling and the Duty Manager will call you back as soon as possible.? We hope however that you have a happy and restful Christmas and New Year.
