Dr Dan Hughes’ treatment model, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, involves working with a child and their family to improve attachment relationships.
Level 1 covers the theories and research of attachment, intersubjectivity and trauma, which are vital in developing secure relationships and helping a child to resolve their early experiences of trauma.
A variety of approaches are used in this treatment model. These include family therapy, Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, psychodynamic principles, and similar interventions to Theraplay and narrative work. He actively communicates PACE (playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy) to help a child self-regulate, resolve their past experiences and to co-construct new meanings of these experiences.
This course will help professionals to develop key skills to work with children who have experienced early childhood trauma.
Therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists and social workers.
