I have worked in mental health for many years, with experience across the NHS, charity sector and therapeutic services supporting children, young people and families. Before joining Family Futures in 2019, I worked in a range of mental health settings and provided therapeutic support around parenting and parental relationships. These experiences have given me a particular interest in the impact of trauma and early relationships on emotional wellbeing and development.

I am passionate about helping children and young people make sense of their experiences and develop a greater sense of safety, connection and confidence. I believe that what happens to us is experienced not only in our minds, but also in our bodies and relationships, and that sometimes creativity, movement and play can help children express and understand things that are difficult to put into words.

Since joining Family Futures, I have developed extensive experience of working within the Neuro Physiological Psychotherapy (NPP) model. I particularly value its neuro-sequential, trauma-informed approach and the way it brings together our understanding of the brain, body, relationships and development.

I am a qualified Dance Movement Psychotherapist and Occupational Therapist, with additional training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Theraplay, Mentalisation-Based Therapy and cross-modal supervision. I continue to be particularly interested in trauma, attachment, relationships and the connection between psychological and physical experience.
