I am a creative integrative psychotherapist who combines arts-based approaches with a range of therapeutic models to help people better understand themselves, their relationships and the world around them.
I trained at IATE, the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education, where I learned how creativity can bring unconscious thoughts and feelings into awareness and support their exploration and understanding. I use creative mediums including paint, sand tray, clay, music and movement, alongside metaphor and imagination. I believe creativity exists in everyone, whether or not they recognise it.
My extensive experience in adoption adds depth to my work at Family Futures. My previous training as both a general health nurse and a mental health nurse also informs my psychotherapy practice, helping me understand the whole person rather than only what appears on the surface.
At Family Futures, I work with parents, children, young people and families. My practice honours each person’s individuality and sees difference as something to be welcomed and valued.
