A standalone assessment focusing on the attachment relationship between a parent and child, and the interactions between them. It can help highlight attachment difficulties, trauma issues, or other issues for a child or young person.
What to expect
You and your child take part in a series of games together while being videoed. The interactions are analysed and a strength-based report is written ahead of a parent feedback session, where we review the video together and think about next steps. It can also lead to a recommendation for a course of Theraplay® intervention.
Our approach
A strength-based assessment that can in itself be therapeutic, with a strong international evidence base. It forms part of our full Multidisciplinary Assessment but can also stand alone as a more cost-effective, focused way to strengthen a child–parent relationship.
