This National Adoption Week it’s been great to see all the stories as part of the You Can Adopt campaign. It’s highlighted the importance of support for families and that everyone’s journey is different. If you’re considering adoption, we’re holding an information evening on 6th November which you can sign up to on our adoption pages.
We have also shared two unique stories in our new podcast episodes. In Sam’s story we hear from adopted young person, Sam. He shares with us his experience of adoption, and why he recently transitioned to home schooling. Sam’s mum also speaks of the joys of adopting an older child.
Newly approved adopters, Buzz and Jenni, also share their experience of becoming adopters, from choosing an agency to being matched.
At Family Futures, our outstanding assessment and training is bespoke for each adopter – our social workers support you through the process and help you navigate finding the right therapeutic support while a therapist will also support you in your therapeutic parenting journey so you can best support the child in your care.
“I left the Family Futures assessment and training process feeling as well prepared as anyone possibly could be for the challenges and joys that adoption will present.” – adoptive parent with Family Futures
