With school holidays just about to begin, we’ve consulted with our education experts here at Family Futures; over the next six weeks we’ll be providing you with some useful tips on how to cope with and manage some of the changes your child might be facing right now, as well as giving you some inspiration for fun activities to do together.
Whether it is dealing with the transition from school to summer holidays, starting school for the first time or moving from primary to secondary school, we’ve got some helpful advice and workable solutions for you.
Family Futures has long argued that there needs to be a regional, integrated adoption service with centres of excellence providing the post placement support and therapeutic intervention that the contemporary adoptive parents and their children, need and deserve. This would ensure that adoptions were not only sustainable but life enhancing . Our only concern is that much of the innovation and quality service provision to date has come from the Voluntary sector and our fear is that regionalisation will mean that only the larger authorities and Voluntary Agencies will be included.
We recently re-launched our website, with the aim of making it easier for our visitors to find the information they’re looking for and to get a real sense of what Family Futures has to offer. I am also keen to make sure we are providing our insights and thoughts with regard to topical discussions around adoption, so each month I will be posting a blog and give my thoughts on adoption related subjects that are being discussed in social media.
We are regularly holding special information evening events or bespoke sessions that you may find of interest, take a look at our events within our News section by clicking here
Family Futures truly welcomes the Adoption Support Fund (ASF); with adoption support being at the very heart of our business, we are pleased that many families who need that extra support following adoption will now be able to access the services they need more easily in future. For more information on our adoption support services that may be accessed via the ASF click here
We held our special Young People’s Forum event on 6th June on the subject of Bullying; we wanted to give our young people their say when it comes to anti-bullying… We delivered a truly interactive session, with lots of discussion combined with bundles of creativity.
We are happy to welcome Deb Gadsby to the Family Futures team. Deb joins us, as our very own Parent Mentor, who will be on hand to support our adoptive parents on their adoption journey.

On the 23rd June we held a dedicated LGBT Information Evening in association with New Family Social to celebrate Pride in London. The evening was aimed at helping to dispel some of those concerns and myths that people have around LGBT adoption and the process. It was a fantastic evening and we met lots of lovely people. Don’t worry if you were unable to attend the event, you can still call for a free consultation on 020 7354 4161 or email: email@example.com
