Welcome to i-Adopt. We help to create families. We assess, train and support parents for the most traumatised children. We are based in Islington, but accept applications from parents all over England.

Thinking about adopting? top
You'll find all kinds of information on this site, from what modern adoption is like to what support you can expect. You can also learn about our uniquely efficient adoption process. We're here to answer all your questions, and you'll probably have a lot.

This could be the biggest decision you ever make. top

Adopting a hurt child is incredibly challenging. We'll support you every step of the way, but you will need to be fully committed to have a chance of making it work. We'd be doing a disservice to you, and to the hurt children that we find homes for, if we didn't tell you that up front.

But you'll also be an extraordinary difference to the life of one of these children, and it might be the most rewarding way of starting a family. More than anything else, you'll need commitment.

So talk about it. Talk to your partner (if you have one - it's not a requirement.) Talk to friends and family. And call 020 7354 4161 or email us and talk to an expert.

Family Futures i-Adopt appears to have struck a chord with many people who are considering adoption.  We have now completed our first tranche of 10 applications for the first year we have been in operation as a voluntary adoption agency.  We have been impressed by the desire and motivation of enquirers to offer a child a home.  As most are aware contemporary adoption is a complex undertaking and Family Futures has set a high benchmark for the sort of applicants we are looking for.  As a new adoption agency building on our post-adoption pedigree we have learned a great deal in the past year.

We have learned that:
It is taking us longer than 4 months to process applications and we would now set the timeframe at about six months minimum.

We are aware that proximity to Family Futures is an advantage. We are prioritising potential applicants who live within a maximum journey time of 90 minutes of our building in North London so as we can give the best and most appropriate support to future adoption placements.

Because of the high level of multi-disciplinary support we are able to offer, and the expectation that local authorities will fund at least a 1 year post-placement support programme, we are being approached by local authorities with children needing placement who are aged 4 or older, with complex social and emotional needs.

Currently all our assessment places are full.  Please contact us in the spring.
